The professorship is seeking tutors for the summer semester of 2026.

To support the Microeconomics course in the summer semester of 2026, our department is recruiting several tutors (SHK/WHF), starting on 1 April 2026. The teaching load will be two 90-minute tutorials, and the workload will be equivalent to 6 SWS, including preparation and follow-up time.

In the tutorials, you will supervise 20–30 participants, present tasks, and explain the relevant background information. You will also be available to participants as a contact person for questions about the course content. You will also support the chair in revising course materials and exercises.

Working as a tutor will enable you to deepen your specialist knowledge and hone your teaching skills. As the direct interface between students and the department, this position also provides an excellent opportunity to develop relationships with the university, the economics team and the microeconomics professorship. Once hired, you will also be listed in the 'tutor pool' for economics and methodology. This means that employment as a tutor in the winter semester is highly likely, provided you are suitable.

We are looking for students who are studying economics, computer science, physics, mathematics, business mathematics or teacher training programmes with a focus on economics and industrial engineering/logistics, and who have achieved good to very good academic results. Students who are still at the beginning of their studies are also welcome to apply. Successful participation in the 'Microeconomics' course is required.

Furthermore, we expect a high degree of initiative, as well as a structured, careful and reliable approach to work. You should feel comfortable speaking in front of a group and enjoy working with people and teaching.

We particularly encourage women to apply and become part of our team.

If you are interested in this position, please send your application, including a cover letter, CV and transcript of records, by email to Mr Marc Justin Schmidt (marc-justin.schmidttu-dortmundde) by 14 December 2025. Mr Schmidt will also be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
