Contents overview
This seminar is dedicated to auction theory and its practical application in the field of purchasing. Auctions are a market mechanism for the allocation of goods that is based on fixed rules and determines a price on the basis of bids submitted by market participants. We will begin by looking at the theoretical foundations of auction theory and getting to know the basic auction formats.
We will then move directly from conceptual understanding to practical implementation: Kloepfel Consulting will present its approaches to evaluating the various auction formats in practice. First of all, the advantages and disadvantages of the various auction types will be presented in a generic way. Real cases from Kloepfel Consulting are then presented. Groups are then formed, each of which is assigned one of the cases. Each group comes up with an auction design and will simultaneously participate as a bidder in the auction of another group. A bidding strategy must be worked out.
Attendance is compulsory for the seminar on the following dates (08:15 a.m.-09:45 a.m.):
10.04.25: Introduction to Auction Theory 1
17.04.25: Introduction to auction theory 2
