Contents overview
This seminar familiarizes students with current research on mental models and economic decision-making. It focuses on how people mentally simplify complex and uncertain situations, interpret information, and use it to form beliefs and make decisions. Participants gain insights into theoretical and empirical approaches in behavioral and information economics. Potential topics include limited attention and memory, expectations about the future, strategic thinking, uncertainty about the correct explanatory model, and the question of why simplified or erroneous conceptions of the world are not always corrected even by new information.
Further details will follow.

Learning goals
Participants will familiarise themselves with current literature on the subject area of the seminar. In the accompanying exercise "Scientific work", the formal and conceptual basics for writing a scientific paper are dealt with. The course thus prepares students for writing their Bachelor's thesis in terms of content and methodology.
